Agendas, Binders, & Friday Folders
Agenda Expectations
Your agenda is your responsibility in fifth grade. You are issued just one agenda per year, so it is important to maintain your agenda. The agenda is a place to list your homework daily and keep track of upcoming assessments. All fifth graders will follow these guidelines:
- Bring your agenda to school, to each class, and home each day.
- Store your agenda in your binder.
- Use pencil in your agenda.
- Pages should never be torn out, folded, or destroyed. Keep all pages in the agenda for the entire year. A sticky note is one way to mark the current week.
- Keep your agenda in good condition.
- Write in your agenda daily. Your teacher will instruct you when in each class.
- Show your agenda to your parents daily. It is your responsibility to share your homework, notes, and other important information with them.
- Agendas will be checked periodically by your teacher in each class.
Binder Expectations

- Make sure papers in your binder are hole-punched, stored in an organized manner, and placed in the appropriate sections. There should be no loose or messy papers.
- Use pockets in the dividers for that subject’s homework or in-progress assignments.
- Regularly review papers in each section, and store any papers for units that have been completed at home for future Milestones review.

- Store your Friday Folder in your binder.
- Teachers will pass out graded assignments and important papers with school information by Friday afternoon of each week. Place these neatly in your Friday Folder.

- Place any papers that need to be returned to school in your Friday Folder. It is also your responsibility to give these papers to your teacher the next day at school.
